The United Nations Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (UN STFA) announced that in 2025 it supported 2,656 women in the development of small businesses and income-generating activities; an effort deemed vital for many families amid widespread restrictions on women’s work.<\/p>\n
This agency tweeted on Wednesday, July 29, that women participating in these programs were able to strengthen their economic activities through specialized training, facilities, and necessary resources.<\/p>\n
According to the fund’s statement, some of these women have successfully started new small businesses or expanded their existing activities, providing a source of income for themselves and their families.<\/p>\n
Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, women have faced extensive restrictions in work, education, and social participation\u2014limitations that have drastically reduced their access to economic opportunities.
