As electricity shortages remain a fundamental challenge for citizens and the private sector in Afghanistan, the Taliban administration emphasized the continuation of energy cooperation during a meeting with Uzbek officials.<\/p>\n
Breshna Company announced that Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, its Chief Executive Officer, met with officials from Uzbekistan’s national electricity company during a trip to Uzbekistan. In the meeting, he stated that Afghanistan has a serious electricity need and expressed hope that Uzbekistan would continue its role in developing Afghanistan’s energy sector.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Hamkar, relations between the two countries have strengthened in recent years, and new energy collaborations have begun. He described Tashkent’s investment in the Surkhan-Pul-e-Khumri electricity transmission project as a sign of trust and cooperation between the two sides.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Uzbekistan’s national electricity company officials provided information on the progress of the 220 kV Surkhan-Pul-e-Khumri transmission project, the Arghandi substation, the transmission line, and the Jalalabad substation. They said these projects would be completed on schedule and in compliance with technical standards.<\/p>\n
The Uzbek officials added that the implementation of these projects creates opportunities for domestic Afghan companies and technical staff to participate.
