This move comes as security tensions escalate in eastern Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>Vahidullah Muhammadi, spokesperson for the 201 Khalid bin Walid Corps, stated that the recruitment campaign is active in six border districts. Registration has been completed for 160 individuals in the districts of Nari, Dangam, Shiltan, and Marawarah. According to Muhammadi, the recruits&#8217; documents have been sent to the Taliban\u2019s General Directorate of Recruitment for final processing.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the process is overseen by Dinar Khan Sediq Omar, head of recruitment for the Taliban administration in Kunar, and Feroz Khan Siraj, deputy for ethnic and tribal affairs of the First Border Brigade within the 201 Khalid bin Walid Corps.<\/p>\n<p>The Taliban have not disclosed the total number of forces they aim to recruit, the selection criteria, or the likely assignments of the new recruits.
