The incident took place in the Sarkh Diwal area of Jalalabad city, the capital of Nangarhar province. According to local sources, the explosion occurred when two children, while herding animals, came into contact with a mortar warhead left over from previous conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson for the Nangarhar police media office stated that as a result of the explosion, an 11-year-old child was killed and a 9-year-old child was wounded.
