The Afghan Red Crescent has announced that, in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, it is reviewing the development of a unified plan to be presented at the upcoming international Geneva Conference.<\/p>\n
According to the Afghan Red Crescent’s press office, the meeting was chaired by Mawlawi Ruhollah Abdulsalam, the Deputy Operational Secretary General of the Afghan Red Crescent, and attended by several heads of central offices along with Marie Manrique, a representative of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, participants discussed topics such as formulating the plan based on the strategic objectives of the Afghan Red Crescent, the national society’s development plan, community engagement and accountability, humanitarian diplomacy, and coordination of the roles of partner organizations.<\/p>\n
The contributions of the Turkish and Qatari Red Crescent societies, the Norwegian and Danish Red Cross, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the International Federation were also reviewed in relation to joint program implementation.<\/p>\n
Attendees emphasized that the aid and activities of partners should be organized within a unified framework to avoid overlap and ensure resources are effectively delivered to those in need.<\/p>\n
According to the announcement, technical meetings with partner organizations will continue in order to finalize the Afghan Red Crescent\u2019s plan for presentation at the Geneva Conference as soon as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
