The aim of the trip is to expand tourism relations and enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

At the welcoming ceremony, Seyed Ruhollah Hosseini, the cultural advisor of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, emphasized the extensive historical, linguistic, and cultural commonalities between Afghanistan and Iran, stating that these bonds can provide a suitable foundation for developing the tourism industry.

He described Afghanistan as part of the Persian-speaking civilization and added that the country possesses cultural capacities, elites, intellectuals, and valuable historical artifacts. According to him, the general perception in Iran about Afghanistan still does not align with current realities, and such trips can help foster a more accurate understanding of Afghan society.

Hosseini also urged the tourists to publish their observations in the form of travelogues. Referring to figures like Rumi and Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni, he highlighted that a significant part of the shared history and heritage of the two countries stems from deep linguistic and cultural ties.

Meanwhile, Alireza Farahmand, an Iranian tourism activist and the head of the group, stated that during their visit, the delegation will tour several important provinces of Afghanistan.
