Taliban officials in Badakhshan province have once again emphasized a tough stance against armed opponents, warning that they will not allow any threatening activities against the country\u2019s security.<\/p>\n
Mohammad Ismail Ghaznavi, the Taliban-appointed governor of Badakhshan, in a speech addressed to opponents, stated that no individual or group would be permitted to disrupt Afghanistan’s security. He urged opponents to cease armed activities and, if they have any grievances, to seek dialogue. Referring to the presence of NATO and U.S. forces over the past two decades, Ghaznavi added that, according to him, the opposition failed to achieve their goals during that period as well.<\/p>\n
Simultaneously, Qari Fasihuddin Fetrat, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Taliban Ministry of Defense, during a visit to the Ziabak district of Badakhshan, declared that the security forces of the administration are prepared to respond to any threats. He stressed that no group will be allowed to disrupt security.<\/p>\n
Fetrat further alleged that Pakistan has supported some Taliban opposition groups, but claimed these individuals have been unsuccessful against the Taliban forces. He spoke about the full readiness of security forces to defend the borders and warned that any actions aimed at creating insecurity will be met with a “decisive response.”<\/p>\n
