Following the deadly floods in Nuristan province, the Shia Scholars Council of Afghanistan has called for the urgent mobilization of aid to address the needs of those affected by the disaster.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the council expressed condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for divine mercy for the deceased and a swift and full recovery for the injured. The statement urged capable citizens, charitable organizations, and relief agencies to take prompt action to alleviate the suffering and homelessness of the flood victims.<\/p>\n
The Shia Scholars Council also called on Taliban authorities to accelerate relief efforts and facilitate effective support for the affected families. The council emphasized that assisting flood victims is not only a humanitarian duty but also carries spiritual rewards.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Taliban’s Disaster Management Department reported that 85 people remain missing following the devastating flood in Nuristan, with search operations ongoing. The United Nations has also reported that more than 40 people have died and dozens more have been injured due to heavy rainfall and flooding in eastern Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
Recent heavy rains and flash floods have impacted parts of eastern and other regions of the country, causing extensive human and financial losses.
