The British newspaper Guardian has reported that Iran\u2019s recent missile attacks on American targets in the Middle East demonstrate increased accuracy and destructive power; one of these attacks resulted in the deaths of three US soldiers in Jordan.<\/p>\n
According to the report, amid escalating regional tensions, Iran has improved its capability to target US bases and sensitive facilities. The Guardian attributes this advancement to technical developments in Iran\u2019s missile program, the use of satellite imagery, and military tactics inspired by Russia’s experience in the Ukraine war.<\/p>\n
Dan Sabbagh, the Guardian\u2019s defense and security editor, wrote that the level of precision and destructive force in recent attacks has increased compared to before, highlighting potential vulnerabilities in US air defense systems in the region.<\/p>\n
The newspaper referred to the attack on Al-Safawi Air Base in Jordan, reporting that this base was protected by the US\u2019s advanced missile defense system known as THAAD, yet despite this, several facilities were damaged. Satellite images released by Iranian media also show damage to parts of the base.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that it is investigating the failure of the defense system in intercepting the attack.
