The Taliban administration has announced new casualty figures from the recent floods in Nuristan province. According to the deputy spokesman of the Taliban administration, the number of victims in the central area and surrounding regions of Nuristan has reached at least 24 dead and 85 injured.<\/p>\n
Hamidullah Fetrat, on Thursday, 1st of Asad, issued a statement revealing that among the deceased are the Taliban-appointed mayor of Nuristan and one of the group’s commanders.<\/p>\n
In addition to the human toll, the recent floods have caused widespread financial damage to residents. Several homes have been destroyed, and transportation routes in some areas have been damaged.<\/p>\n
The deputy spokesman of the Taliban administration has called on Afghan traders and investors to assist the affected families.
