According to the administration, this unit aims to improve medical services for critically ill patients.<\/p>\n<p>The Taliban Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the acting head of the ministry, inaugurated the unit during his visit to Kandahar. The ministry claims that establishing this unit is a step toward expanding health services and providing standard treatment for urgent patients.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ministry, the cost of constructing and equipping this unit was provided by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Taliban administration asserts that with the activation of this unit, better care will be available for patients in Kandahar and neighboring provinces.<\/p>\n<p>This project comes amid ongoing serious challenges in access to quality healthcare services in many provinces.
