According to a statement released by the Taliban&#8217;s Foreign Ministry, both parties emphasized enhancing political dialogue, economic cooperation, and diplomatic ties.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, Muttaqi highlighted the deep-rooted historical and cultural relations between Afghanistan and Tajikistan and expressed hope that interactions between the two countries would increase in the near future. He also described Tajikistan as a brotherly and neighboring country that, according to him, can be a reliable partner for the Taliban administration.<\/p>\n<p>Although Taliban officials publicly promote good relations with neighboring countries, the lack of international legitimacy, human rights violations, and restrictions on freedoms within Afghanistan remain significant obstacles to meaningful cooperation with neighboring states.<\/p>\n<p>In another part of the meeting, the Tajik delegation also expressed a strong commitment to developing cooperation and emphasized the exchange of experiences and joint investments in various sectors.
