The Taliban’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has announced that during a meeting with the head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), emphasis was placed on expanding agricultural projects and strengthening support for farmers\u2014an initiative that could impact agricultural production and farmers’ capacities.<\/p>\n
According to a press release issued today by the ministry\u2019s media office, Mawlawi Sadralzam Osmani, the deputy minister, in his meeting with Mikail Tsch\u00fcdemir, head of TIKA in Afghanistan, called for broadening the scope of cooperation and implementing more projects in the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n
The Taliban administration stated that the meeting highlighted the development of expansion programs, enhancement of production capacities, and the exchange of expertise. The Ministry of Agriculture also expressed appreciation for the role of TIKA and the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in previous program implementations.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the head of TIKA in Afghanistan, providing a report on the agency’s activities, said that alongside establishing greenhouses, conducting training programs, and implementing other development projects, the agency continues its cooperation in the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n
According to published information, TIKA has in recent years carried out projects such as distributing fruit tree saplings, constructing greenhouses, organizing training sessions, and equipping agriculture-related centers in Kabul and several provinces.
