The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has stated that educating girls can create hope and new opportunities for Afghanistan, and investing in this sector is essentially investing in the country\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, July 16, OCHA posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that girls\u2019 access to education plays a decisive role in improving Afghanistan’s social and economic conditions. The international agency emphasized that depriving girls of schooling will have long-term consequences for the entire society.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, OCHA highlighted the concerns of a mother living in Bamyan province. She expressed her fear that her daughter might be deprived of a bright future and lose life opportunities due to the continued ban on education.<\/p>\n
Since the Taliban returned to power, girls beyond the sixth grade have been barred from attending school. Additionally, extensive restrictions have been imposed on higher education, women\u2019s employment, and women\u2019s movement without a male guardian.
