Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced that despite the complex relations between Tehran and Washington, the country continues its diplomatic efforts to reduce clashes around the Strait of Hormuz and bring the parties back to negotiations.<\/p>\n
Tahir Andurabi said on Thursday at a press conference that Islamabad views diplomacy as the only effective means to achieve regional stability and is striving to bring the viewpoints of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States closer together. According to him, Pakistan believes dialogue can prevent further escalation of tensions.<\/p>\n
Referring to the importance of maritime security, he added that normalizing conditions in the Strait of Hormuz, especially regarding the movement of ships and the security of navigation, is among Pakistan’s top priorities. Andurabi emphasized that stability in this vital passage is significant for the region and beyond.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson urged the involved countries to refrain from actions that could broaden the crisis and to exercise restraint to create an environment conducive to resolving differences through negotiation. He also recalled that previous diplomatic frameworks and agreements can still serve as a basis for building trust and advancing the peace process.<\/p>\n
