According to officials from the department, this year, 82,466 tons of wheat have been produced from 2,772 hectares of cultivated land.<\/p>\n<p>Engineer Nasiruddin Bahij, head of the agricultural affairs at the department, told Bakhtar Agency that last year&#8217;s harvest amounted to 68,722.5 tons, and this year\u2019s figures show a significant increase.<\/p>\n<p>He cited improved security, timely provision of agricultural services to farmers, distribution of improved seeds and chemical fertilizers, implementation of awareness programs for cultivators, and expansion of cultivation areas as the main factors behind the yield growth.<\/p>\n<p>According to this official, efforts to mechanize agriculture and to enable farmers\u2019 self-sufficiency will continue.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, several farmers in Logar also confirm the rise in wheat yields.
