Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Construction has announced that the country has reached agreements with Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan to supply metal smelting factories and provide raw materials needed for the metallurgy industry. These agreements come as Kazakhstan seeks to strengthen its mineral supply chains and expand regional cooperation.<\/p>\n
Kazinform news agency reported that Yerzhan Nagasibayev made this announcement during a government meeting in Kazakhstan. According to him, the metallurgy industry’s output in the first six months of this year reached 97.3 percent.<\/p>\n
He attributed the relative decline in production in this sector to planned renovations at several industrial facilities and the gradual reduction of domestic mineral reserves. However, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry added that with new measures to ensure a stable supply of raw materials, the sector’s performance improved by 1.8 percent compared to the first five months of the year.<\/p>\n
Nagasibayev stated that domestic producers have increased the supply of raw materials for the production of copper, steel, and gold, and that steel concentrate shipments have resumed. He also confirmed that agreements for importing minerals from Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan have been finalized.<\/p>\n
The Kazakh Minister of Industry also announced that manufacturing growth in the country reached 9.8 percent in the first half of this year, largely due to the launch of new factories and industrial projects. According to him, 74 investment projects worth 252 billion tenge have been commissioned so far, creating over 4,300 permanent jobs.<\/p>\n
