More than 3,095 carats of emeralds extracted from the Panjshir mines were sold to national traders through an official auction process, generating revenue of 2,119,000 Afghanis. The sale took place in the presence of the Mining Protection Committee delegation.<\/p>\n
Saifuddin Laton, spokesperson for the Panjshir governor, announced that this quantity of emeralds was sold today through an auction and the proceeds will be deposited into the designated accounts. According to him, the sale was conducted within the framework of established procedures.<\/p>\n
Panjshir, a mountainous province in the northeast of the country, is historically renowned for its emerald mines and is considered one of the important sources of mineral revenue. However, transparent management of mining revenues and their use in public projects has always been a key demand of the province\u2019s residents.<\/p>\n
