According to the report, the prolonged closure of border crossings between Pakistan and Afghanistan is one of the primary reasons for the drop in mango exports. Afghanistan has historically been one of Pakistan\u2019s key markets for agricultural products, but this year, no Pakistani mango shipments have been sent there. The repeated border closures between Pakistan and the Taliban administration in recent months have also severely damaged bilateral trade.<\/p>\n
Dawn further notes that the war in Iran has disrupted maritime shipping routes and increased freight costs, leading to reduced mango exports from Pakistan to Gulf countries. Higher transportation fees have diminished the competitiveness of Pakistani exporters in regional markets.<\/p>\n
In addition to these factors, climate change has dealt a serious blow to production.
