Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum of the Taliban administration, during a visit to the construction site of the Safwan Cement Factory in Parwan province, emphasized accelerating construction work, adhering to technical standards, and completing the project within the scheduled time.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, in a press release, announced that Badri closely inspected various sections of the factory, evaluated the progress of work, the execution of construction tasks, and the production capacity. He described timely completion of this project as crucial to strengthening domestic production and developing the country’s cement industry.<\/p>\n
According to the project official, once operational, the Safwan Cement Factory will produce between 5,000 and 9,000 tons of cement daily. This comes at a time when Afghanistan has relied heavily on importing a significant portion of its cement needs in recent years.<\/p>\n
The project official also added that the factory’s operation will provide direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 5,000 people. He stressed that increasing domestic production could reduce dependence on imports and bolster economic activities in related sectors.<\/p>\n
