A delegation from the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Department of Tourism, Finance, and Administration under the Taliban has visited Paktika province to survey and document several recreational and tourist sites aimed at attracting domestic and international tourists and encouraging investment.<\/p>\n
According to the Bakhtar Agency report, the delegation, accompanied by officials from Paktika’s Department of Information and Culture, toured tourist areas in Sharana city, the provincial capital, as well as several districts, assessing the existing capacities and facilities.<\/p>\n
Mullah Mohammad Amin Hazifa, head of Paktika’s Department of Information and Culture, stated that the goal of this initiative is to introduce the province’s tourism potential and attract investors to develop this sector. He added that alongside the Ministry’s programs, efforts are underway to encourage private sector investors to operate in these areas.<\/p>\n
The Director of Culture and Tourism in Paktika also called on national investors to invest in the province\u2019s well-known tourist sites to foster the growth of the tourism industry and create job opportunities for local residents.<\/p>\n
The Poltani Dam and tourist areas in the districts of Giyan, Ziruk, Sarobi, and Argun were identified as some of Paktika’s key attractions, which officials say hold significant potential for development.<\/p>\n
However, economic experts believe that developing tourism in Afghanistan requires more than just surveying and documenting sites. Sustainable security, the establishment of standard infrastructure, service facilities, and the removal of restrictions affecting tourists\u2014particularly foreign visitors\u2014are essential.
