According to the department, this year&#8217;s harvest is expected to reach 159,075 tons.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammad Wali Amarkhail, the department&#8217;s press officer, stated that this year a total of 5,050 hectares of land in Baghlan have been cultivated with melons and watermelons. Last year, the cultivated area was 4,658 hectares, producing 138,124 tons of yield.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say that the expansion of cultivated land, the use of improved seeds, and the application of modern agricultural methods are the main factors behind the growth in production. They emphasize that these changes have contributed to improvements in both the quality and quantity of the products.<\/p>\n<p>Baghlan melons are well-known in domestic markets due to their sweetness and favorable quality.
