Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, responded to recent remarks by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, stating that his comments regarding European countries’ involvement in the US and Israel’s war against Iran indicate that Europe has not been neutral in this conflict and must be held accountable for its role.<\/p>\n
Baqaei wrote in a post on his personal social media page that the repeated admissions by the NATO Secretary General about the cooperation of some European countries in this war confirm their participation in what has been called a “military aggression.” According to him, countries that have allowed their territories, bases, and infrastructures to be used for military operations cannot evade responsibility for the actions taken and their consequences.<\/p>\n
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also criticized what he described as “pride in this participation,” seeing this approach as an attempt to win the approval of the United States. He added that such stances neither change the standing of the organization in Washington’s view nor conceal its existing weaknesses.<\/p>\n
