Pakistani aviation authorities confirmed that the aircraft lost contact with air traffic control after reporting a technical malfunction. According to the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, at 9:18 p.m. local time, the pilot reported a “navigation system malfunction” and requested assistance from Karachi air traffic control. Just three minutes after this call, tower officials observed the plane suddenly losing altitude and making a sharp change in course. Radio and radar contact with the flight was lost approximately 287 kilometers west of Karachi.<\/p>\n
Initial flight tracking data indicate the aircraft experienced an initial descent, followed by a brief altitude gain, and ultimately a rapid drop\u2014a pattern typically associated with an in-flight emergency.<\/p>\n
The plane had departed from the United Arab Emirates that evening, heading to Pakistan with five individuals on board, including the pilot, co-pilot, and three technical staff.<\/p>\n
A large-scale search and rescue operation has been launched focusing on the Arabian Sea. According to Pakistan\u2019s Dawn newspaper, the naval frigate “Zulfiquar,” air force and navy aircraft, as well as a vessel from the National Shipping Corporation of Pakistan, have taken part in the operation.<\/p>\n
