The meeting focused on creating job opportunities, providing housing, and implementing infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n
Hanafi claimed that since the Taliban took power, over eight million migrants have returned to the country, and preventing their re-migration requires broad international community cooperation. He called on international organizations to provide practical support in job creation, strengthening infrastructure, and improving the livelihoods of returnees, despite many returnees still complaining about the lack of basic services and employment opportunities in several provinces.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Administrative Head also referred to a recent UN report on the reduction of drug cultivation and production, requesting global cooperation to provide alternative livelihoods for farmers. Experts emphasize that without sustainable economic programs, there is a risk of illegal crop cultivation resurgence.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Alexander De Croo acknowledged the security provision and advancement of development projects by the Taliban administration. He highlighted notable actions in drug control, addiction treatment, and economic development. He added that international organizations are ready to cooperate in strengthening the local economy, trade, infrastructure construction, and the development of agriculture and irrigation.<\/p>\n
Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, also emphasized the continuation of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
