Pakistani officials announced on Sunday that at least eight tribal members and a young girl have died in two separate clashes between tribes in Balochistan province. According to the police, these incidents stemmed from tribal disputes and hostilities.<\/p>\n
According to a report by Dawn newspaper, the first incident took place in Qila Abdullah district, where armed individuals opened fire on their rivals. As a result of this attack, four members of one tribe were killed on the spot, and a young girl, who was injured, later died after being taken to a hospital in Quetta city.<\/p>\n
Police stated that this attack was part of a long-standing feud between two tribes. Security officials said that prior to this incident, six relatives of the attackers had been killed by the opposing side, and one of the attackers reportedly said during the shooting, “Today we have taken our revenge.”<\/p>\n
Following this event, members of the victims’ tribe blocked the Quetta-Chaman highway for several hours while transporting the bodies and demanded the arrest of the perpetrators. The road was reopened after talks with local authorities.<\/p>\n
The second incident occurred in Dera Bugti district, where two factions of the Bugti tribe clashed over a marriage proposal. According to police, armed individuals from both sides opened fire at each other using automatic weapons, resulting in four deaths and one injury.<\/p>\n
The wounded individual was taken to the hospital, and security forces have been deployed to prevent the escalation of tensions in the area.
