He emphasized that this technology must remain at the service of humanity and that its management should stay under human control.

On Monday, July 6, Guterres wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) page that the global community must ensure that artificial intelligence works for the benefit of humanity rather than humans being led and controlled by it. He posed the question of whether humanity will retain the leadership of this great transformation or hand over the future path to intelligent systems.

The UN Secretary-General dedicated a significant part of his concerns to the protection of children and called for the establishment of a “child safety commitment against artificial intelligence.” According to him, this commitment is based on three principles: safety testing and monitoring, zero tolerance for any abuse, and the creation of support systems in crisis situations.

Artificial intelligence has experienced remarkable growth in recent years and has been used in sectors such as education, healthcare, economics, and cybersecurity. Despite the broad opportunities, this technology has also raised concerns about privacy, potential abuses, and its impact on future generations.

UN Secretary-General Guterres warns AI’s rapid growth must benefit humanity, emphasizing child safety and human control over AI technologies.

[14

post-16813","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-technology
["GET
