According to officials, this production partially meets the food needs of the local population.

Khawaja Mohammad Shafiq Siddiqi, Director of Agricultural Affairs at the department, told Bakhtar News Agency that the total wheat harvest this year reached 45,691 tons. He added that this amount covers nearly 40 percent of the consumption needs of Kapisa’s residents.

He noted that in the current year, 12,353 hectares of irrigated land and 300 hectares of rain-fed land in the province were cultivated with wheat. The main wheat cultivation areas are located in the center of Kapisa and the districts of Nijrab, Kohistan Part One, Kohistan Part Two, Tagab, Alasay, and Kohband.

Siddiqi added that on average, approximately 200 seers (around 12.5 kg per seer) of wheat were harvested from each jerib of land. He cited the distribution of improved seeds, the use of chemical fertilizers such as urea and diammonium phosphate, the reduction of pests and plant diseases, and the organization of training programs for nearly 5,000 farmers as the main factors behind the increased yields.

The director of agricultural affairs also stated that next year, the department will distribute improved seeds and chemical fertilizers to 1,000 farmers in two districts of the province. He urged farmers to actively contribute to improving and increasing wheat production by practicing crop rotation, timely planting, proper fertilizer use, and effective pest management.

Kapisa province reports a 2% increase in wheat harvest this year, with over 45,000 tons produced to cover 40% of local food needs.

[7,17

post-16613","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-important-news
["GET
