The head of the Knowledge-Based Committee of the Agriculture Commission of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber met with the Governor of Herat to discuss expanding modern agriculture, transferring technical knowledge, and developing scientific and economic cooperation between the two sides.<\/p>\n
According to the press office of the Herat Governor, Kourosh Shojaee Nofarest mentioned the agricultural capacities of Herat province during the meeting and expressed the readiness of specialized institutions to cooperate in advanced technologies, water resource management, increasing crop productivity, and implementing scientific programs.<\/p>\n
He stated that the use of modern agricultural methods could increase domestic production, create employment opportunities, and promote economic growth in Herat and other provinces. He believes that transferring experience and technology, alongside specialized training, will play a key role in strengthening the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n
In response, Noor Ahmad Islamjar, Governor of Herat, described agricultural development as a fundamental priority of the Taliban administration in the province, noting that Herat enjoys suitable agricultural lands and significant resources.<\/p>\n
He added that the local administration supports investment, the transfer of experience, and new technologies that improve production and strengthen farmers\u2019 economies. However, some farmers in Herat have previously complained about the lack of standard infrastructure, unstable water resource management, and the absence of practical support\u2014issues that pose serious challenges to fulfilling such commitments.<\/p>\n
