Imran Riza stated yesterday at a specialized meeting in Beirut that the continued Israeli conflict has forced many Lebanese residents to leave their homes and endure difficult humanitarian conditions. He added that concurrently, 1.4 million people in the country require urgent humanitarian assistance.

Riza emphasized that while humanitarian aid is vital, it alone cannot address the ongoing crisis because Lebanon is facing a multidimensional crisis encompassing human, economic, and social challenges. The UN coordinator further explained that people’s needs go beyond food, shelter, healthcare services, and security; they also require employment and sustainable income to preserve human dignity and support their families.

Riza also warned that many companies and businesses have been affected by the situation, and if sustainable economic activity is not ensured, the risk of rising unemployment and worsening economic crisis in Lebanon will increase.

UN reports one million Lebanese displaced and 1.4 million needing urgent aid amid ongoing conflict and multidimensional crisis in Lebanon.

[17,6

post-16367","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-international
["GET
