Residents of Gaza are still grappling with a complete power outage—a severe crisis that has persisted since the onset of military attacks on the area.

Prior to the conflict, the Gaza Strip received an average of about 160 megawatts of electricity from the occupied territories. In addition, the region’s sole operational power plant had a production capacity of up to 60 megawatts. However, these sources—especially under a long-standing blockade—lacked stability.

Just days after the intensification of military strikes, Gaza’s power plant ceased operations entirely due to a fuel shortage. According to a report by the al-Araby al-Jadeed news website, the depletion of fuel reserves plunged the area into total darkness.

Officials from Gaza’s electricity distribution company told Reuters that more than 80 percent of the power grid has been destroyed by airstrikes. They have estimated the initial damage to facilities, equipment, and related infrastructure at $728 million.

The Taliban administration, which maintains close political ties with ruling groups in Gaza, has remained silent in the face of this humanitarian crisis and has taken no action to support the civilian population. This indifference raises questions about the administration’s foreign policy stance on humanitarian emergencies in other countries.

Gaza remains without power days after ceasefire as widespread damage to infrastructure leaves over 80% of the grid destroyed, officials report.

[17,6,16

post-1634","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-international","category-secondary-headline
["GET
