The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the summoning of Pakistan\u2019s ambassador to Kabul, Ubaid-ur-Rahman Nizamani, following Pakistan’s airstrikes on parts of Kunar, Paktia, and Paktika provinces. The Taliban formally protested against what they described as a “violation of airspace and targeting of civilian homes.” The summons came after last night\u2019s attacks, which the Taliban said resulted in significant casualties.<\/p>\n
In a statement released on Monday afternoon, July 29, the ministry condemned the strikes as a “blatant violation of international principles, humanitarian laws, and national sovereignty.” According to Taliban figures, at least 36 people, including women and children, were killed and 163 others wounded in the bombings.<\/p>\n
The Taliban administration emphasized that this was not the first incident of its kind, accusing Pakistan of attributing security incidents far from the border to Afghanistan without providing credible evidence. The ministry\u2019s statement claimed that Islamabad uses Afghanistan as a scapegoat to conceal its “political and security failures,” resorting to military measures that have proven ineffective.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Pakistani officials stated that the airstrikes targeted positions of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the group “Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.” However, the Taliban maintain that residential areas and civilian homes were hit.<\/p>\n
