According to officials, search and rescue operations to find survivors are still ongoing, with aid teams actively working in the affected areas.<\/p>\n<p>The two earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, struck the La Guaira region near Caracas, Venezuela&#8217;s capital, on Wednesday. Official statistics indicate that over 3,100 people have been injured, and more than 12,700 have been forced to evacuate their homes.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, reports state that at least 774 buildings have been completely or partially destroyed, raising concerns about the structural safety of the remaining buildings. Authorities say damage assessments are still underway.<\/p>\n<p>Delsi Rodriguez, Venezuela&#8217;s interim president, stated that rescue operations will continue as long as there is hope of finding survivors. She announced the formation of a special commission to evaluate the safety of damaged buildings and added that school holidays have been extended.
