According to the officials, this measure aims to reduce patient overcrowding and improve access to medical care.

Mullah Shir Muhammad Sharif, the Taliban governor of Zabul, stated that healthcare services in the province were previously weak, but following the Taliban’s return to power, the hospital capacity has been expanded and pharmaceutical and equipment needs have been partially met. He also highlighted increased attention to districts and the engagement of aid organizations to support health centers.

Meanwhile, Syed Abbas Hashimi, a doctor at the Zabul provincial hospital, reported that more than 12,500 patients receive services monthly across surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, nutrition, dialysis, physiotherapy, and vaccination departments. Nonetheless, he emphasized that challenges remain and have been reported to the relevant authorities.

Residents of Zabul province welcomed the increased hospital capacity but called for further expansion of healthcare services in the Qalat center and surrounding districts. Although local officials speak of reduced overcrowding in the hospital, the widespread need for quality medical services in Zabul indicates that the province’s healthcare infrastructure continues to face serious challenges. Effectively and sustainably addressing these issues requires transparent planning and accountability from the Taliban administration.

Zabul’s provincial hospital bed capacity increases from 100 to 300, improving healthcare access amid ongoing challenges and calls for further development.

[9,17

post-15993","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-health","category-important-news
["GET
