The statement noted that in recent days, flags and mourning symbols have been taken down from several mosques and Hussainiyas in some areas, several mosque and tekyeh officials have been detained due to displaying these symbols, and Tamaddun TV broadcasts were halted ahead of Ashura. Additionally, the Khatam al-Nabiyeen Seminary has been closed, an action that has sparked widespread reactions within the Shia community.<\/p>\n
The council emphasized that these measures come despite Muharram ceremonies being held peacefully and based on mutual agreements in previous years and earlier this year. They believe that disregarding these agreed frameworks could lead to distrust and increased concerns among Shia citizens.<\/p>\n
The statement further urged Taliban officials to promptly address the situation of the Khatam al-Nabiyeen Seminary and facilitate its reopening, as well as to allow Tamaddun TV to resume its activities. The council announced it will present related documents and reports to senior Taliban authorities after the days of Ashura.<\/p>\n
The Shia Scholars Council also called on religious scholars, preachers, and orators to inform people about the current situation during Muharram sessions, stressing the importance of maintaining unity, public order, and pursuing demands through official channels.
