The Head of the Taliban Prime Minister’s Office met with the Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, describing the relations between the two countries as “strong and inseparable.” According to a statement released by the Taliban administration, both sides emphasized the continuation of political and economic cooperation between Kabul and Tehran during the meeting.<\/p>\n
Abdul Wasi, Head of the Taliban Prime Minister’s Office, characterized the relationship between Afghanistan and Iran as closely linked Islamic neighboring countries and noted that these ties have persisted even under difficult circumstances. He pointed to an increase in trade exchanges between the two countries as a sign of the interconnectedness of their economies and security.<\/p>\n
Alireza Bikdeli, Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires of Iran in Kabul, also described the relations between the two countries as historical and deep. He expressed gratitude for the support and sympathy shown by the Taliban administration and the Afghan people during the war. He noted that throughout the Ramadan conflict, economic and political relations between Afghanistan and Iran continued without interruption.<\/p>\n
In another part of the meeting, Abdul Wasi referred to the ongoing return of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries and requested that Iran provide greater facilitation regarding the residence and repatriation of these refugees. He added that better management of refugee conditions could help strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
