The export items included dried fruit, rice, minerals, potatoes, pomegranate juice, and vegetable seeds.

On the other hand, the majority of railway transfers consist of imports of petroleum and non-petroleum materials; a fact that indicates the country’s trade balance still heavily depends on imports.

The Ministry of Public Works stated that these transfers were made through the ports of Hairatan, Aqina, and Turghundi, as well as via the Khaf-Herat railway line. These routes are considered among Afghanistan’s most important trade corridors with regional countries.

The Taliban administration says that since their return to power in Afghanistan, efforts to expand the railway network have increased. However, economic experts emphasize that expanding transportation infrastructure can lead to sustainable economic growth only if transparency in revenue management, private sector access to opportunities, and improved trade relations with regional countries are also ensured concurrently.

Afghanistan’s rail freight transfers surged 77.9% in one year, highlighting growing trade and ongoing efforts to expand the railway network under Taliban rule.

[7,17

post-15704","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-important-news
["GET
