U.S. President Donald Trump has warned of severe consequences if the Taliban administration refuses to hand over Bagram Air Base to the United States. The warning was issued on Sunday night (September 20) in a statement posted on Truth Social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his message, Trump wrote: \u201cIf Afghanistan does not hand over Bagram to those who built it \u2014 the United States of America \u2014 bad things will happen.\u201d His remarks come amid ongoing U.S. efforts to negotiate with the Taliban for the return of this key military facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, Trump had also stated that discussions were underway with Taliban representatives regarding the future management of Bagram. He stressed the base\u2019s strategic importance and said Washington intends to regain control of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his official trip to London, Trump appeared at a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, where he reiterated that the U.S. is determined to reclaim Bagram from Taliban control. \u201cThe Taliban need things from us; therefore, we want this base back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
