The spokesperson for Iran\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that today, Sunday, June 21, a four-party meeting between Iranian and US delegations, with the participation of representatives from Qatar and Pakistan, will be held in Switzerland. According to the spokesperson, the main objective of this meeting is to follow up on the implementation of the commitments outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed on June 18.<\/p>\n
Ismail Baghaei, who is attending alongside the Iranian negotiation delegation in Switzerland, stated that the meeting\u2019s agenda has been arranged so that in the first part, separate meetings will be held with the Qatari and Pakistani delegations acting as intermediaries. Following this, a joint four-party meeting will take place in a single room.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that from Iran\u2019s perspective, executing any agreement is more important than merely signing it. This meeting demonstrates Tehran\u2019s seriousness in demanding and pursuing the counterpart\u2019s commitments. According to Baghaei, the commencement of negotiations to reach a final agreement is conditional upon the implementation of five specific clauses outlined in the memorandum of understanding.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson for Iran\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored that the first clause of this memorandum emphasizes stopping the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, which from Tehran\u2019s point of view has not yet been implemented. Baghaei also referred to the matter of releasing Iran\u2019s frozen assets and issuing the necessary permits for oil sales, stating that these topics also require executive actions to be pursued during today\u2019s meeting.<\/p>\n
He added that the exchange of messages among the parties has been continuous through intermediaries, and the aim of today\u2019s meeting is to ensure the start and continuation of implementing the prerequisite commitments for launching the negotiations on the final agreement.
