Following two deadly explosions in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan’s Defense Minister accused the Taliban administration of cooperating with India to spread “terrorism” within Pakistani territory and announced the beginning of a “decisive war” against this phenomenon. According to reports, the two roadside blasts occurred on Saturday, killing at least seven people and injuring three others. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.<\/p>\n
Khawaja Asif, Pakistan\u2019s Defense Minister, reacted by stating that it is time to launch a comprehensive fight against terrorism through national unity. He emphasized that Pakistan\u2019s armed forces are on high alert and will respond immediately to any aggressive actions.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani official further alleged that “India\u2019s proxy groups in Afghanistan” are operating against Pakistan and that Islamabad will take necessary measures in this regard. He had previously described Afghanistan as the primary source of insecurity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.<\/p>\n
In recent years, Pakistani officials have repeatedly accused the Taliban administration of providing safe haven to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Islamabad also claims that India supports anti-Pakistan groups through Afghan territory\u2014an accusation consistently denied by both Delhi and the Taliban administration.<\/p>\n
Despite the Taliban administration\u2019s repeated denials of the presence of TTP or other foreign armed groups in Afghanistan, reports from some international organizations indicate that thousands of fighters from the group remain inside Afghanistan, with some being trained in various areas.
