The protesters urged governments and global institutions to condition any official engagement with the Taliban on respect for human rights and the restoration of women’s rights.

In Washington, participants emphasized women’s rights to education and employment by chanting the slogan “Education, Work, Freedom.” They stressed that the systematic deprivation of women from education, work, freedom of movement, and social and political participation constitutes a clear violation of equality principles and a ban on discrimination.

In Geneva, Afghan migrants gathered outside the United Nations office to condemn the violent suppression of peaceful protests in the Jebrail area of Herat. According to them, arbitrary arrests of women due to their clothing and coercive treatment of protesters exemplify the Taliban’s escalating restrictions.

Similar demonstrations were also held in the Spanish cities of Madrid and Bilbao. Protesters in Madrid issued a statement describing the human rights situation in Afghanistan as “deteriorating” and called for the initiation of a formal legal investigation into targeted violence against the Hazara community as a genocide.

They also emphasized that Tajik, Uzbek, Turkmen communities, Shias, and religious minorities such as Sikhs and Hindus face structural discrimination and cultural erasure, and that the international community should take action in documenting, investigating, and ensuring accountability.

In Calgary, Canada, human rights advocates holding a rally declared that Afghan women under Taliban rule face gender apartheid. They urged the Human Rights Council, UN special rapporteurs, and governments to break their silence and take concrete measures to provide practical support for Afghan women.

These protests come as restrictions on women and girls in Afghanistan have increased in recent months, with reported cases of arrests related to clothing choices — actions that have sparked widespread domestic and international reactions.

Afghan migrants in the US, Switzerland, Spain, and Canada protest Taliban’s gender apartheid policies, demanding global recognition and women’s rights restoration.

[17,16

post-15680","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-secondary-headline
["GET
