The office of Pakistan’s Prime Minister announced that Shehbaz Sharif has signed a memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington, following US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. According to Islamabad, this agreement, finalized through Pakistan’s mediating role, is now entering the implementation phase.<\/p>\n
Last night, after signing the memorandum, Shehbaz Sharif stated that the US and Iranian presidents signed the document in accordance with the framework he approved as the mediator. He emphasized that this memorandum of understanding will be implemented immediately.<\/p>\n
According to the Pakistani Prime Minister, in the first step, Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and in return, the United States will directly lift its naval blockade. The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic energy transit route in the region, and any changes in its status have broad economic and security repercussions internationally.<\/p>\n
