Discussions focused on development and humanitarian programs and projects across various sectors. The main emphasis was on development needs and how to better coordinate efforts between international organizations and the local administration.<\/p>\n<p>The governor of Panjshir stated that the province is among the less developed regions in Afghanistan in terms of reconstruction and local economic growth and that it had previously not received adequate attention. He stressed the need to take advantage of the presence of international organizations to implement development projects and improve the economic situation of the residents.<\/p>\n<p>The provincial media office added that the Taliban administration welcomed the activities of UN agencies and pledged to support programs that aim to improve the welfare and living conditions of the people. However, it was noted that this cooperation should be marked by transparency and accountability to ensure that international aid is delivered effectively and fairly to those in need.<\/p>\n<p>Tabita, head of UNAMA\u2019s Central Zone, praised the cooperation of Panjshir\u2019s local administration and affirmed that the mission is ready to continue its facilitation role in coordinating humanitarian activities and responding to the people\u2019s needs. She added that following the extension of UNAMA\u2019s mandate for another year, the mission will continue efforts to attract international aid and share the population\u2019s needs with relevant agencies.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, representatives from various UN agencies presented reports on their activities. The UN Habitat office announced the launch of support programs for displaced persons in Panjshir. The World Health Organization spoke about the continuation of health services and combating infectious diseases. The UN Development Program outlined the implementation of infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a UNESCO representative stated that the agency is active in media, education, and capacity building. The UN Population Fund reported on mental health programs. UNICEF said it supports 121 health centers and is engaged in education, safe drinking water, and disaster response efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The UN Office for Project Services also announced plans to implement five urban development projects worth over $600,000 in Panjshir this year.
