Najibullah Ali confirmed that over 19 women have been arrested in this province so far.

However, local sources claim that the actual number of detainees is several times higher than the figure reported by Taliban officials. This discrepancy in statistics has raised concerns about transparency and the treatment of women in Herat.

The Herat security chief stated that monitoring women’s dress is aimed at “observing the hijab and cultural education,” and that any woman who does not comply with the standards set by the administration will be arrested. Since returning to power, the Taliban have imposed widespread restrictions on women’s social presence and dress throughout the country.

Najibullah Ali also confirmed that the Taliban forces fired warning shots into the air to disperse residents protesting the detention of women in the Jebrail area of Herat city, and that several protesters have been arrested. Civil activists say that the harsh measures against women and protesters have not resolved the issue but have instead increased fear and dissatisfaction among families.

Taliban continue detaining women in Herat for not observing hijab and fired warning shots at protesters, raising concerns over transparency and treatment of women.

[17,8

post-15460","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-social-affairs
["GET
