This initiative aims to provide safe housing for families who face a shortage of basic facilities after returning to the country.

According to UN-Habitat, many returnee families in northeastern Afghanistan live in damaged or substandard homes and have an urgent need for adequate shelter. Kunduz and Baghlan have hosted a large number of returnees in recent years.

The agency emphasized that access to appropriate shelter is a fundamental need for every family, and delays in addressing this issue could exacerbate social and economic problems. Amid rising poverty and unemployment, the lack of extensive support programs has raised concerns among residents of these areas.

Despite the efforts of international organizations, the primary responsibility for providing basic services and creating safe living conditions lies with the Taliban administration. However, the shortage of coherent programs in housing and support for returnees remains a significant challenge in these provinces.

UN-Habitat has started rebuilding 800 shelters for returnee families in Kunduz and Baghlan to provide safe housing amid growing poverty and lack of support.

[17,2,16

post-15446","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-migrant-news","category-secondary-headline
["GET
