He described the ties between the two countries as important and emphasized making use of existing capacities.

The Deputy Governor of Helmand, referring to Afghanistan’s agricultural capabilities, said the primary goal is to benefit from Iran’s experience in agricultural mechanization and improving the quality of products so that Afghan goods can be offered to regional and global markets in a standardized and competitive manner.

He also stressed the need for coordination between businessmen and investors from both sides and added that these collaborations could pave the way for forming joint investments and sustainable economic relations.

Mawlawi Mahmood also mentioned Helmand’s mineral resources, saying that the province contains valuable reserves, especially mineral stones; however, due to a lack of technical infrastructure, a significant portion of these resources are extracted and processed in a non-standard manner. According to him, Afghanistan requires cooperation and technical knowledge transfer in this field.

He emphasized that utilizing Iran’s experience in establishing factories and processing units could increase the added value of Afghanistan’s mineral products and facilitate their wider export.

The Deputy Governor of Helmand also announced a potential increase in cargo transit volume, stating that currently about 300 to 400 trucks cross the shared borders daily; however, with strengthened infrastructure and customs equipment, this number could rise to 800 to 1,000 trucks per day.

In the same meeting, Mojtaba Shariati Far, Deputy Coordinator for Economic Affairs of South Khorasan’s Governor, stated that South Khorasan and Helmand, given their complementary capacities, can become an important hub for economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan. He said the synergy between the two provinces’ capacities could lead to expanded investment and growth in commercial exchanges between the two sides.

Helmand deputy governor expresses readiness to expand economic cooperation and trade with Iran, focusing on joint investments and infrastructure development.

[7,17

post-15438","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-important-news
["GET
