This request comes as Afghanistan’s current quota for Hajj has been approximately 30,000 pilgrims in recent years.

According to the ministry’s statement, Noor Mohammad Thaqeb discussed preparations for the upcoming Hajj season, improving services for pilgrims, and expanding bilateral cooperation in Hajj affairs with Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.

The acting minister pointed to the country’s growing population, stating that recent reports estimate Afghanistan’s population at 43.8 million, with over 100,000 citizens registering annually to perform Hajj. He urged Saudi officials to reconsider Afghanistan’s quota in light of the increasing number of applicants.

In past years, the registration and dispatch process for Afghan pilgrims faced several challenges, with citizens repeatedly calling for greater transparency in quota distribution and cost management. However, the Taliban administration has yet to release detailed information on the selection criteria and prioritization of applicants.

Hajj is one of the fundamental pillars of Islam, and each year thousands of Muslims from Afghanistan travel to Saudi Arabia to fulfill this religious duty. Effective and transparent management is crucial to avoid potential issues during the pilgrimage.

Afghanistan’s Taliban ministry requests a higher Hajj quota from Saudi Arabia amid increasing demand and growing population ahead of next year’s pilgrimage season.

[17,18

post-15292","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-religion-thought
["GET
