Officials from the Taliban administration in Balkh province have announced that a shipment of humanitarian aid from Turkmenistan arrived in the province today, Saturday (November 7). <\/p>\n
According to a statement from the Taliban Governor’s Office in Balkh, the aid includes food supplies and non-food items, with a total value of 34 million Afghanis. It is still unclear how this aid will be distributed and through what mechanism.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Noorulhaqi Abwadrees, the deputy governor of the Taliban administration in Balkh, expressed gratitude for this aid and called for continued cooperation from Turkmenistan with Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Marzabai Kabev, Turkmenistan\u2019s Consul General in Mazar-i-Sharif, stated that these aid packages reflect his country’s commitment to humanitarian principles and regional responsibility.<\/p>\n
This aid was sent following a 6.3-magnitude earthquake that shook northern Afghanistan last Sunday night, particularly affecting Samangan and Balkh provinces. The earthquake resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries, causing significant damage to the region.<\/p>\n
