The Taliban administration has announced that in the past day, 639 migrant families, totaling 3,448 individuals, have entered Afghanistan through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala, and Nimroz border crossings.<\/p>\n
Hamdullah Fetrat, Deputy Spokesperson for the Taliban administration, said in a statement on Wednesday, June 10, that the majority of returnees entered through the Torkham crossing. According to him, 395 families, consisting of 2,994 people, returned to the country solely via this route.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, 54 families returned through the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar province, 30 families through the Nimroz border, and 16 families via Islam Qala in Herat.<\/p>\n
In recent months, the process of expelling and returning Afghan migrants from neighboring countries has increased, placing additional pressure on families many of whom return without prior preparation or basic necessities.<\/p>\n
These returns continue amid recent reports from the United Kingdom that approximately 22 million people in Afghanistan are in need of humanitarian aid.
