In response to worsening water shortages and ongoing drought in Paktia province, some farmers have started using drip irrigation systems, a method they say reduces water consumption and increases crop yields.<\/p>\n
Local residents explain that this system delivers water directly to the roots of plants in a controlled manner, preventing waste. They believe that compared to traditional irrigation methods, drip irrigation lowers water costs and enables better management of limited water resources.<\/p>\n
Farmers also emphasize that this method reduces the risk of certain plant diseases by preventing uncontrolled water distribution in agricultural areas. According to them, the system also makes it possible to irrigate larger farming areas.<\/p>\n
Paktia, located in eastern Afghanistan, is a province where the economy of a large portion of the population is based on agriculture.
